Galerie Armel Soyer presents artist Jimmy Delatour’s exhibition “Concrete Absolution” in Paris. The works on display are part of Jimmy Delatour's first “Concrete Absolution” collection, featuring a meridian, table, coffee table and four candle holders. It is a tribute to architecture, man and modernism. A tool of a revolution that allowed man to rise, reshape and reinvent his habitat, Concrete is synonymous with new artistic freedoms and great aspirations. Although it has made it possible to write a new page in the history of the 20th century, concrete is often decried. Because of these pieces of furniture, a veritable micro-architectures with a deliberately raw aspect, as extensions of the structures that surround us, Jimmy Delatour calls for a reconciliation with concrete, to free it from the prejudices that accompany it. Forms with a very radical design and pure lines, projecting matter into the foreground, mass and volumes assumed, enhanced with copper or associated with glass. A collection made of high-performance concrete, like an echo, a reminder of the will of man to reinvent himself and to endure in its environment. The exhibition will be on view from October 20, 2017 to January 27, 2018 at Galerie Armel Soyer, 19 rue Chapon, 75003 Paris. For details, visit: http://www.blouinartinfo.com/galleryguide/galerie-armel-soyer/overview Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.
