Mieke Everaet will soon be participating in the Art Nocturne Knocke 2017. Born in Belgium in 1963, Everaet received her training at the Ceramic Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, led by Achiel Pauwels and Hugo Rabaey, two well-known ceramists and later completed her education at the National Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Mieke Everaet's creations are made from very fine threads of pigmented porcelain. The degree of technical complexity is extremely high and very time-consuming, and yet the pots are striking in their simplicity and gracefulness, emanating a light and poetic beauty; thus taking up a special position in the field of porcelain.The artist has participated in an endless number of international exhibitions, is represented in several large museums and has received many awards and prizes in Belgium and abroad.
