A new installation by renowned Berlin-based, Danish contemporary artist Jeppe Hein, titled 'Semicircular Space, is on display at National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, and will run through February 26, 2017.Constructed from evenly spaced upright forms made of highly reflective stainless steel, 'Semicircular Space' immerses visitors in a nautilus-like labyrinthine. The mirrored surfaces promote a dynamic relationship between the viewer and the surrounding architecture. The disorienting maze-like structure investigates space and perception in a playful manner through experiences of the physical space and the mirrored space in an alternating rhythm. Jeppe Hein is well known for installations and sculptures created in such a style; he draws upon the traditions of Op art, Conceptual art and Minimalism. The exhibition is on view at National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) International, 180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne.
